Michaelmas Term 2011

Our new termcard is available here. Read, mark, learn, etc…

Mass is celebrated, as usual, every Saturday evening at Holy Rood at 6pm, and is preceded by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.

The main event in the first half of term is Solemn Evensong and Benediction for the feast of St Frideswide (Virgin, Patron of the City and University of Oxford). This will be held on Wednesday, 19th October at 7.30pm, once again in the Priory Church at Blackfriars’, on St Giles’s. The preacher is the Rt Revd Dom Aidan Bellenger, Abbot of Downside. Music will be provided by the Newman Consort, and all are most welcome.

Later in term, on Saturday, 26th November (eve of Advent Sunday), we will be holding a service of Lessons and Carols at Holy Rood at 4pm.

This term’s visiting preachers include, as well as the Abbot, Fr Mark Elvins, OFMCap, Fr Paul King, Fr Daniel Seward, Cong. Orat., and Fr John O’Connor, Prior of Blackfriars’.

More news and information about forthcoming events will be highlighted here.
